The Neighbourhood Development Plan isn't about one person
It is about how a community can build a future for the town
It is a chance for the people of the town to help shape the future of the town and reflect the best interests of the local community. The Neighbourhood Plan isn’t designed to take away what is great about Ledbury but rather give you the opportunity to put into action policies that can make it even better. Besides, who better than the local community to help shape how the town develops in the future?
You may already be aware of the housing developments approaching for 800 new houses, but did you know that the Neighbourhood Plan can influence how it will look? Take a look at the current progress on the housing section of the plan to find out more. A great (and expanding) team of volunteers are working on drafting a relevant, accurate and legally binding plan. We will be looking into how Ledbury can adapt to suit a growing elderly population, security for leisure facilities, improving safety on roads and building the local economy to benefit locals and attract people and investment for the future.
The Neighbourhood plan gives everyone in Ledbury the opportunity to understand how the future might look, and most importantly to get involved and have a voice.
The below image shows the stages of the NDP and we have now reached stage 5 - Regulation 14 Consultation on the draft plan. See our consultation page to find out what has happened so far, and how you can still have your say.
